COLLAB | Lifestyle | Room Inspiration & Room Decor Statement Pieces.

My room is my favourite place in the house. It’s a place I spend most of my time in. If the walls could talk, they will tell you everything I have been trough. So, you can imagine I like to take care of my little place.

I like to keep things organised and tidy. I love to use my space usefully because it gives order in my head. So, I’m a big fan of drawer organising and was happy to find acrylic organisers at my local dollar store, called Action. Europeans know which store I mean, a store that makes us happy! Not only I keep my makeup organised, but also my jewellery and my sunglasses. It creates a clear view of the stuff that I have. It’s quick and easy to pick up when I need something from the drawer.

I am without a doubt happy with my clothing rack purchase. I hang my outfits for a week on it, so that I don’t need to search for it in the morning. When it comes to shoes for the week, I put it on the shelf right under the rack. For the shoes I don’t have space for, I use a trolley to organise them. The trolley comes so in handy, because of the wheels under it. I just roll it out of the space, it fits perfectly there.

After organising I like to spice up my room with decorations. I’m obsessed with the statement posters I received from Gallerix. The posters framed in a black wooden frame, reminds me of my roots. I haven’t been to Morocco for four years now and I miss it a lot! The city poster reminds me of the memories that I have during my stay in Morocco. Like visiting my local souk(market) where I bought the jewellery box. A true statement decoration!

The Sheikh Zayed mosque in Dubai poster caught my eye, same goes for the Ornate Entrance door. It gives me that Arabic aesthetics that I truly love.

With code Saida30 (valid till 26th of February) you’ll get 30% off at Gallerix. Happy shopping!

Collab | Beauty | By Dash Beauty.

NEWS FLASH: gather around mua’s and makeup lovers, its time to take notes! Meet vegan and cruelty free cosmetic brand By Dash Beauty, as their motto says: ‘’where beauty becomes magic’’ I couldn’t agree with it more. Say hello to high quality and pretty prices!

What I love about By Dash Beauty it is so feminine. If you look at their Instagram account, you’ll know what I mean. A feed with love for pink, shades of red and boss babes! When you want to see how the lip gloss colours or different eyelashes look like on a pretty face, you know where to go. From a classic red lip gloss to dramatic Betty Boop eyelashes to makeup accessories, to the perfect dress: it’s like a walk-in closet. Everything is right in front your eyes.

On my lips I used lipliner shade On Fire. Just to line my cupid arrow and the sides of my lips. I did not over line them, I don’t like an unnatural look. The pigment is so good, it does not smudge after hours. I love how it matches perfectly with the lip gloss I’m wearing. It’s called Flamingo and it looks exotic as it sounds. The shade gives me classic vibes, you never can go wrong with red coloured lips. The lip gloss contains shea butter and vitamin E, my lips stay moisturized during my day. A lip balm is not needed!

Are you also into cruelty free and vegan makeup?

Lifestyle | Mental Rehab!

My mental health has lately my focus. I’m always trying to acknowledge my feelings and emotions to stay true to myself. I learned the hard way; mental health is not something to take it slightly. Before realising this, I went through the process of getting to know myself better. I realised that writing and reading is my way to escape my daily routine and my overthinking. It has been ages since I have read a good book! I also used to write daily in my dairy, that has been ages too! Thinking about it makes me feel guilty towards myself because I enjoyed doing it so much.

I feel that my mind is hungry for information and spirituality. When I was younger, I devoured books daily. As I’m getting older it went from daily basis to weekly basis, monthly basis to practically non. As you can imagine my mind just wanted entertainment easy, no hustle and fast. Hello, social media and Netflix! It feels like an addiction, and it is time to have a mental rehab!

Like rehab, I’m taking it step by step. For my spirituality hunger I was searching for a book that reminds me of my faith. Daily Wisdom selections from the Holy Quran came as a blessing on my path! I love reading in it when my emotions are all over the place, including calmness and happiness. For that extra faith boost I started to read the book Reclaim Your Heart by Yasmin Mogahed. Such an eye opener! Making notes helps me a lot too, perfect way to get it into my system because I want to start writing in my diary again.

To start my day good, when I wake up in the morning, I write in my Five-Minute Journal from Intelligent Change. The journal works amazing, you’re indeed only busy with it for 5 minutes! Which is perfect for when you have a busy day or when you’re not really in the mood for it. The weekly challenges, morning gratitude, daily affirmations and more really helps with having a good morning and night routine. It also encourages a healthy mind set and productivity!

What do you do for a mental rehab?

Collab | Beauty | “Ice Ice (globes) Baby.”

‘’Ice ice baby…Ice ice baby.’’ Sorry I couldn’t help myself! It is exactly what I think when I look at the ice globes. Just like the song, I like it! Tried it on my lovely mother and she likes it too! Overall, only positive vibes when it comes to the ice globes.

First, eye candy meets the eye. The package looks amazing in a firmly baby blue box that you can close with a ribbon. Love the idea behind a reusable box! When you open it, you feel like Cinderella who sees her glass heels for the first time. It fits perfectly in the cut-out form of the ice globes. You will not worry that it will break when you put it back in the box, to use it again during your skincare routine. You can enjoy the experience of the ice globes in the comfort of your home. All you must do is put it in your freezer for 30 minutes and if you have time or leave it overnight.

You must have seen ice globes on your social media feeds, they look intriguing and colourful! The benefits of using the globes are reducing swelling or puffiness, minimizing of pores for a smoother complexion, radiant glowing skin, improves chronic skin conditions and soothes the skin after intensive facial procedures. Quite a list for what it’s good for! Personally, I love it for my swelling and puffiness around my eyes, cheeks, and neck. Especially in the morning when I wake up. During my night routine I love using the globes on my eyes, to relax my eye muscles because of my work. I stare 8 hours for three days in front of a screen. I wear subscription lenses and at my work I mostly wear my subscription glasses. So, resting my eyes after a long day is much needed.

Lastly, The FRAÎCHEUR ice globes are made from high quality freezeproof borosilicate glass. It is filled with an antifreeze liquid, which makes the ice globes easy and fast to use. They are also hypoallergenic, cruelty free, vegan, alcohol free and suitable for all skin types. Hello sustainability!

Disclaimer: the ice globes has been gifted to me, I tried it on myself, and my mother and they are beauty approved!

Beauty | My Beauty Tools.

What I truly like about everything beauty, is the diversity you’ll find. There are many options available for your skin, you will find a product that suits you the best. From high end to drugstore to vegan to cruelty free to products for all skin types and colour. Thankfully beauty brands are very dynamic and changes a lot!

I don’t know about you guys, but I like to have items that I can use for a long time. If you had the opportunity to visit my room, you would find stuff I have for ages. My little brothers say that I have a store in my room, because I’m such a hoarder when it comes to reusable stuff. Or anything stuff…I’m just a person who takes care of her belongings. I believe I’m not the only one, after all we work for it.

If you are a everything beauty related addict like me, I would like to introduce you to my beauty must haves. First, I would like to start with a basic must have, makeup brushes. Having makeup brushes from good quality helps a lot with applying makeup. I like the brushes from Real Techniques, the hairs/bristles don’t come off and feel soft. When I apply my makeup with it, it goes smooth over my face and eyelids. I also like that they have written on the brushes what you can use the brushes for. Perfect for when you are a newbie in the makeup game. It also doesn’t cost much; it comes in sets. So, you have a couple of brushes that are worth your money. I have been using it for quite a while now and they are still in a good shape.

I have been thinking about my skincare routine a lot lately. As I’m getting older, I want to change or add products into my routine. When I was younger, I didn’t care much about skincare. Now I love to put a mask on, use vitamin c, eye serum and more! However, once in while or when I’m not too busy or tired, I like to use beauty tools for that extra bit of care. I’m hooked lately on my heart shaped rose quartz from H&M. I use it after my vitamin c serum, just to relax my muscles and for the blood circulation on my face and neck. I also love to put it in my refrigerator for that cold touch under my eye. The roller, also from H&M, I use it when I applied a sheet mask on my face. This way the ingredients of the sheet mask get absorbed through my skin. The tool with the rose quartz round vibrates. I namely use it on and around my eyes. During my day I wear contact lenses or glasses when I work behind a screen for 8 hours. Sometimes my eyes feel dry and irritated. So, I like to take care of them too. When I put a sheet mask on, I sometimes use a derma roller from Swiss Clinic on my jawline. Just to give my skin a boost and let it heal my acne scars, that I still suffer from due to PCOS. But that is a story for another day!

When I really want to pamper myself, I use the big guns. The light therapy device from Touch Beauty heats my skin gently and increases the production of collagen. It gives my complexion a youthful look. For those annoying and stubborn blackheads, I use Pore Perfection. The gentle suction helps to remove blackheads on my forehead, nose, and apple cheeks. When I’m finished my skin feels soft and has a natural glow. What I love about all the tools, is that it is easy and quick to use.

What is your beauty tool that I should try?

Lifestyle | The Importance Of Mental Health.

Normally I don’t talk about too personal subjects on my blog, even though I have a public ‘’social media life’’ I still would like to keep somethings private. However, the subject I’m going to write about is close to my heart. In a good and a bad way.

During my childhood and teens, I lived a normal life, a typical girl who lived through the ups and downs that life threw at me. I felt and still feel blessed because it made me who I am. As I was growing up live kicked me hard and I desperately needed to set back. In 2013 my rock, my everything, my heart, my lovely mother got sick. She suffered majorly with her mental health and physical health. My world stopped, everything in my life stopped. My studies lacked my focus, my hobbies, my social contacts, literally everything. The only ‘’me time’’ I had was going to work for two hours during the workweek. Eventually even that felt oppressive.

Understandably the health of my mother became my priority. My family and me were focused on getting my mother to feel better, to become better. From doctor appointments to visiting the mental health clinic to visiting the hospital and regulating her medicines, that was our focus. Next to it came maintaining our household. Cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, my little brothers going to school, my father to work and me visiting my college classes depending on who can be home at that moment, so that my mother wouldn’t be alone. Or going only to my exams, which I even didn’t learn for. We all did everything on automatic pilot.

As you can guess, of course there would be a moment in time that my body is going to shut down. It was time to take a good look in my mirror. It was during my current study for Pedagogy that I realised: I need to stop. I started to promise myself that I need to work on myself! I started to work out, started to go out with my sister, grab a coffee with a friend, hang out with my family and do some shopping. You would think that it was a good thing, meanwhile my feelings about the whole situation started to eat me up. Overthinking, being and feeling annoyed about the little things, binge eating or not eating for hours, being irritated, crying without any reason and being angry about everything and everyone became my way of life. I was ignoring the source of my true emotions, literally. That resulted into tumbling at the edge of a burn out. I felt tired all the time! Mentally, physically, and emotionally. I felt gloomy and dejected.

In January 2018 I made an appointment with my doctor after I almost fainted in the middle of an aisle, when I was running for errands. I felt so dizzy that I felt like I was in a washing machine. If I didn’t hold on to the shopping shelf, I probably would kiss the floor. It was my wakeup call! My anxiety went through the roof, questions like: what’s wrong with me? What Happened? Why? Am I sick? I don’t feel good! My body is crushing down! Omg what is wrong! How sick am I! When I told my doctor what my symptoms were, I felt a bit reassurance. My journey to therapy begun.

I was the best decision I made in my life! I truly felt relieved, especially when I chose for group therapy. I met new people, talked, and heard their stories. It was a beautiful experience; it sounds scary to share your story with others. However, I felt understood and didn’t feel alone. My education during this time helped me a lot too. The classes about psychology and the role plays as professional and patient were an eye-opener! Step by step I felt good again. I felt more and more confident about myself. My life went as it should, I was better able to cope with my home situation. Therapy helped me so much that I started with it again just three weeks ago! This time individually; this time it is not about me being on the edge of insanity, it is about me being strong enough to talk about myself and not about my home situation. It is about me figuring out why I handle things my way. It is about getting to know myself even better.

The moral of this long story, seek professional help, any help. It is like the phrase: ‘’you can run but you can’t hide.’’ Once you face it, you’re going to feel such a big confidence in yourself, that you know the true meaning of your existence. When you read this blogpost, I hope that my story is going to be your first step into your journey of working on your mental health. You’re truly not alone!

Beauty | 2 Makeup Brands I Love With A Small Price Tag.

Who doesn’t love the small things in life? A smile that is given, buying yourself or getting flowers from a loved one, a walk at the beach…Small prices for good quality. If you know me, I love a good item that is worth the money, small or big.

When I was younger, I tried makeup out to see which shade suits my skin tone. I started with brands that didn’t cost much. I tried many brands to find hidden gems, it felt like I was searching for a needle in a haystack. So, I was pleased to find Kiko Milano and Essence Cosmetics.

The price range from Kiko Milano starts at €4 and ends at €25, unless it is a limited edition set, collaboration collection or special occasions collection, a little disclaimer here. From the buys I did, I never got disappointed. It has good pigment; it doesn’t smell toxic or bad and the structure of the makeup feels soft and easy to apply. I’m using the Green Me hydrating BB Cream in shade Porcelain for more than a year now and when I have nothing left of it, it goes straight into my virtual shopping basket. I’m also obsessed with their lip glosses. Not only does Kiko Milano has beautiful shades, but it also has a non-toxic smell or feel. Which is amazing, you don’t wat to apply something on your lips that doesn’t feel right, right? The bronzers are also pretty goodies that I love to use, same goes for their highlighters. The bronzers are not too dark for my skin tone and the highlighters are good pigmented and gives that perfect glow during my day.

When it comes to nail polishes, eye and lipliners is Essence Cosmetics my BFF. Love the many colors I can use while I play with my makeup. I’m a sucker for eye looks, so the eyeliners are perfect to start with. I only use the lipliners when I want a full makeup look, I mostly do when I’m invited for parties. In my case: Moroccan weddings. When I visit the drugstore, I always walk by the makeup aisle. I always look if Essence Cosmetics has a new collection. When it does, I look at their lipsticks and glosses. Nine out of the ten times I put it in the shopping basket. If I urge myself, I don’t need it I put it back. If not, I lost to the urge.

Which small prices cosmetic brand is your favorite?

Lifestyle | Apps I Use For Blogging & Instagram.

I’m someone who reads other blogs and search online about apps bloggers/influencers use to make their social media life easier and practical. Bloggers out there know blogging means commitment and apps helps a lot with it! I want to share my apps, maybe you didn’t know these helpful ‘’blogging elves’’ yet.

I’m going to start with the most important thing when it becomes to blogging, studying and working. Having your own space! It doesn’t matter how big or small your house is, having a place where you can work peacefully is a must. Mine is my room and in particularly my desk, where I have everything around me from magazines to get inspiration to a pen and paper to scribble down my thoughts. I understand that for everyone it is different. Sitting on the floor in the middle of chaos called life is perfectly fine too.

The app that I use for my blog is of course WordPress. I found this platform the perfect way to blog. It is easy to work with, it has many options and when you need help WordPress is there to help you quickly and understandable. The next app I use is Business Suite from Facebook, I use it for my Facebook page. When I want to share my blogposts, I use it and to see my statistics. What I also use is Bloglovin’. It is a platform for bloggers who share their blog that you can follow to read their new blogposts. I use it for inspiration and read other blogs, it also helps to redirect readers to your blog! The next one I use is Telegram. This app I mostly use to share my Instagram posts in groups for more exposure. The only app I use for ambassadorships is Brandbassador. By promoting their products by sharing a code, you get commission every time your code is being used.

For my Instagram stories and the latest Twitter Fleets, I use the apps Unfold and StoriesEdit. I love these apps because it adds flair to my stories. For the annoying follow to unfollow people I use Unfollowers for Intsagram and Unfollow for my Twitter. It also shows ghost followers and interactions you get on your accounts. It works perfectly for when your account is public. Unwanted interactions are easy to maintain and easy to block them. Hallelujah for this!

What kind of apps do you use?

Beauty | My Favorite Perfumes This Season.

Perfume is next to bags and shoes my favorite obsession. My collection includes drugstore and high-end goodies, I don’t discriminate! I’m truly a fan of beautiful perfume bottles, they are so nice to look at, definitely eyecatchers. My obsession for perfume started at first with sweet girly scents. My preference was flower scented perfumes with a sweet touch. As I’m getting older and look further than my horizon, I tend to go for perfumes with a wooden undertone. This doesn’t mean I gave up sweet girly flower-scented perfumes. It’s more like I upgraded it to a more grown woman flower wooden scent. If you know what I mean? I also change my perfume like my wardrobe during the seasons. It’s like I’m adjusting it to my mood and weather. How colder the season, how warmer and sensual my perfume gets.

I don’t have a top 3/5/10 list because I like them all. However, I would like to start with Dior Pure Poison because it was for a long while on my mind to buy. My sister bought it for herself and I got hooked on it too.  It has a flower oriental scent, which makes the perfume feminine and sensual. It gives that warm feeling whenever you smell it. It also stays so long; you don’t smell it but the people around you will. So, don’t forget to shine because you’ll get random compliments during your day!

I received Perfect from Marc Jacobs from Glamour Magazine NL to review. I fell first in love with the bottle! It’s so pretty and cute. Even the story behind the name of the perfume is something that is amazing. Marc Jacobs got Perfect tattooed on his arm, to celebrate being perfect just the way he is and wanted to share with you all that you’re also perfect the way you are. What I love about the scent is that you smell the warmth of cedarwood, and it ends with a sweet finishing touch.

s.Oliver Black Label is yet again a flower scent perfume. However; it has an undertone scent of fruits. It starts first with the nuts from an orange, mandarin and a peach. After that comes the scent of flowers roses, jasmine and lilacs. It ends with the aroma from vanilla and musk. It’s just perfect, the feeling of warmth and sweetness in one! I also like the bottle; it looks simple and yet chic.

Chloe Nomade is the perfume I bought for myself for my birthday. As I have written in my blogpost, it became a tradition to buy perfume for my birthday. The bottle reminds me of the water bottle cowboys take with them when they ride their horses through the desert. The scent has a subtle flower and fruits scent. But the smell is not girly at all. It feels more like a warm day and out of the blue you feel a cold breeze. You know the smell is there, but it will surprise you how the smell changes when you smell it during your day.

Last but definitely not least, is L’Interdit by Givenchy. I fell in love with in since visiting Glamour Beauty Festival. It is also my first ‘’grown up’’ perfume. It is the first one I bought with more a wooden undertone. This one also stays long that you don’t need to spray much. L’Interdit means forbidden in French, it was created in 1957 by Hubert de Givenchy. It was made for Audrey Hepburn; she wore it for a year before its release to the public. She became also the first actress who got to be the face of a perfume. Now such a thing is indispensable, gorgeous actresses representing a perfume everywhere!

LIFESTYLE | Club 30! Perks Of Being In Your 30s.

Hello September! Hello birthday month! Hello, making it a month to remember! Am I making you excited too? I bet I’m not the only one who gets this feeling, when you’re alive and well and your birthday month is coming up. However, I do believe some of you could have a mixed feeling about getting older. Even I don’t feel like a kid in a candy store over the years I’m getting older. Since years ago, I don’t celebrate my birthday in the sense of throwing a big party and invite whoever I can and of course, want. Celebrating my birthday means to me, celebrating being grateful. Let me take you to the perks aisle of being in your 30s.

I don’t know about my fellow 31 years clubbers, but I truly believe in: getting older means getting wiser. I’m not talking about not making mistakes or following strictly the rules of life and not coloring outside the lines, not that it is a bad thing. I’m talking about having a different mindset from what you had when you were in your 20s. Those mistakes become learning moments. Those strictly living by the rules of life becomes having experiences in live. Coloring inside the lines becomes thinking outside the box.

Because of this mindset, your confidence keeps growing whenever your life experiences become learned experiences. Old situations become better to handle and new situations become easier to start with. Not only how you adjust to situations and your emotions, your thoughts and opinion changes when your getting older. Don’t forgot the relationships you have. In terms of love, family and friends. Aware and unaware you hold on too who are important to you and who brings you joy and love. You will not tolerate childish behavior, disrespect and ignorance. It will be easier to cut ties. When you do: hello drama free life!

Holding to things that makes you happy is also something that you are going to do. It will become something that you truly treasure. As I have written earlier, every year I’m celebrating being grateful. It became a tradition in my life to go out to dinner with my family. Celebrating them for always being there for me. I love them around me! My birthday is also a moment to reflect about myself. How I did the last couple of months. I’m grateful about what I achieved with my studies and blog. I’m going to graduate next year, and I still love my blog after 7 years. I have collaborated with brands that I’m very proud of! I also celebrate my mental health. Sounds crazy, but it helps a lot when I look back to moments that was hard for me and be proud about how I conquered it. I also gift myself perfume, because it is well deserved. Why perfume? Because that beautiful bottle is pretty to look at and the scent represents your lovely and sexy self.

The aisle of perks is coming to an end. Welcome to getting older and less f*cks to give!

COLLAB | BEAUTY REVIEW| Touch Beauty; Get Your Light Therapy Device With Code Saida For 20% Off!

You see them everywhere, those beauty devices that makes you very curious about them. Well, at least I am. I caught myself looking at them when I see their advertisements randomly on my social media timeline. It’s like my FBI-agent behind my laptop camera, is trying to say something to me. Not that I’m afraid to get a wrinkle, but who doesn’t want to age beautifully. Google Meryl Streep and you will know what I mean.

I was happily surprised when TOUCHBeauty approached me to review their Anti-Wrinkle RF & Microcurrent & Light Therapy Device. A mouth full, but it caught my curiosity. First, I looked online to inform myself what kind of brand TOUCHBeauty is. The international brand is established in 1999 in the UK. Their main focus is on design, research & development, manufacturing, and sales of beauty & personal care devices. And wants in the future to provide valuable services of healthy beauty care solutions for everyone. This introduction made me think that it is amazing to see that a brand wants to give their customers the opportunity to use a beauty device privately and with comfort from their own homes. No need to spend weekly or even monthly at beauty salons, while you can invest one time for a lifetime!

The device has 4 different skincare treatments. It includes RF, which means radio frequency. It heats my skin gently to increase the production of collagen and gives my complexion a youthful look. Secondly it has microcurrent. It stimulates my muscles to improve my facial contours and reduces my fine lines. The 630nm red light delivers wavelengths to improve my skin health and appearance. The infrared lights works together with the red light to penetrate deeply into my skin, for an effective treatment. Also, the RF and microcurrent has 6 adjustable intensity levels so I can adapt the treatments to my personal skin needs. Perfect for when I tried it for the first time. I wanted to get to know the device first. So, I tried different levels and treatments.

It came with a hydrating gel, exclusively for the TOUCHBeauty device. You apply a bit on the electrode pole and use it on your face. The gel has a scentless smell. I love this about the gel! I am very sensitive for cosmetics and beauty products that has a chemical scent. To me it doesn’t matter how good or how expensive a beauty product is, if it smells bad, I don’t use it. So, this is definitely a big plus for me. What I find thoughtful from TOUCHBeauty, is that they also added small safety goggles to protect your eyes from the red lights. The small dust bag and cleaning cloth comes in handy. Not only does the dust bag protects the device, it also gives that chic look. The device has also a convenient charging system and a direct USB charger which is perfect for when you travel.

Writing about the device makes me excited to use it again. I even showed it to my sister, and she was impressed too. I want to share this excitement with you. You can use code Saida for 20% off on the device. Happy shopping!

COLLAB| BEAUTY | My Skincare Routine With Pixi Beauty.

As I’m getting older, I’m getting more and more aware of what my skin needs. I have an oily skin which equals open pores and breakouts. Dr. pimple popper would be happy with my face. From all the skincare products I used, I found out that my skin gets less breakouts if I use a moisturizer that doesn’t have a thick substance. The one from Pixi Beauty is truly my holy grail!

At this moment I’m using their Vitamin-C range and I love it! When I use their Vitamin-C beauty cleanser, I literally smell the soft citrus melting in my skin. Which I understand because it’s made of orange, grapefruit and lemon oils as well as hydrating olive oil. The benefits of the ingredients are definitely amazing. You can find olive oil in every Moroccan woman skincare routine. It is passed on from our great grandmothers to our grandmothers to our mothers to us. It probably will be passed on to our daughters.

Pixi Beauty is well known for their amazing tonics. The Vitamin-C tonic helps to create my skin smooth and glowy. Who doesn’t want that natural glow? It preps my skin perfectly for the rest of the Vitamin-C range products. I always thought never use an oily serum when you have an oily skin! I thought wrong because afterwards I feel that my skin is fresh and soft.

As I said at the beginning, a moisturizer that I use on daily bases needs to have a soft watery substance. If I use a thick one, I get out of the blue a pimple invasion. Those intruders aren’t welcome! I finished the Pixi Beauty Vitamin-C lotion and use their bestseller moisturizer. Both are ideal for my skin. The last step of my skincare routine is using the Vitamin-C caviar balm. It’s a leave-on mask that hydrates my skin while it boots my natural glow and collagen production. Perfect for youth-preserving. Advice coming from a club 30 member: the sooner you start with it, the better.

Disclaimer: I received the products as a Pixi Beauty Ambassador. Before I wrote this blogpost, I’ve been using the products for weeks.

Event Report | Glamour NL Beauty Festival 2019.

It has been a while since I have been to the festival, but I’m still excited about it! It seems I have a every year turn back to this event policy. I liked it in 2018, 2019 and definitely got it this year on my planning.

The festival was powered by Zalando Beauty, which means a lot of new introductions of brands and their latest collections. Also, there were brands that was familiar to me and they showed their newest goodies. If you know me, I fall easily in love only by looking at their brand appearances. Yes, judging a book by its cover!  You can imagine I felt in my element. The venue was like last year at the Tropen Museum in Amsterdam and ladies: yellow and red marble with golden details everywhere! Perfect for shooting your pictures for Instagram. My influencer thoughts are speaking now, feel free to judge. Sorry not sorry!

There were stands of different brands showing their new collections and shared their latest news. You could experience the new product by looking, touching and by using their testers. There was also the possibility to buy products with a discount. Perfect for when you want to try something new! I also took a moment with my sister to pierce our ears. The stand was there, and my sister pushed me over the edge, I don’t regret it at all! I always wanted a second hole right next to my hole in my earlobe. I had that one since I was a kid and on my 30th I had the nerve to pierce a second hole.

You also could attend workshops about how to apply eye makeup, foundation and many more. There were masterclasses from Dutch influencers about how they use Instagram. I found my way already, but it was interesting to listen. I was impressed by the masterclass from power ladies who are leading ladies at their businesses. It was definitely a festival for beauty and brains!

During breaks you could buy healthy snacks and drinks. Or you could go and have fun at the beauty products grabbing machine and other fair like games. I got a makeup touch up by a makeup artist from NARS. The most important thing I did is having fun with my sister and a dear friend!

Let me first start with a small disclaimer to this blogpost: I’m not a social media expert, I’m just sharing my way how to be besties with Instagram and her algorithm. Because what I’ve learned from the last six years of blogging and using social media is: Regina George aka Instagram is indeed a mean girl!

I have noticed that there is big difference between social media and blogging then and now. When I first started everything was literally blooming in the social media and blogging field. Everyone was trying to make place for themselves in the field. There were also less exactly the same flowers blooming. Now the field is full of influencers, not a bad thing! They are just better in how to bloom. Secondly, everyone has his or her own way to express themselves on Instagram. I am someone who takes is slow and not seriously, in the meaning of not rushing to hit the big ‘’K’’. 10k, 15k etc. On my Instagram I have 7k (in a lifespan of 6 years) lovely followers who are perfectly enough for me. Especially when I blog only part-time and not for business, but for pleasure.

What worked for me the most, and it sounds cliché, be yourself! No need to photoshop, shrink waists or legs. First, you’re pretty the way you are, and it takes a lot of your time before you post it on your feed! Use this time for something else, like eating a cupcake.

So, my first tip Loves: do you prefer edits on your feed: only a filter is more than enough. Trust me, less is more. Go for a more natural filter. The pink, orange, purple and blue filter is already taken! By a lot…Be Different with the filters. My second tip Loves: don’t use a filter? Like me. I only edit my pictures with the features that comes with your phone or Instagram itself. I only change the brightness and the contrast of my pictures. That’s it! These slightly changes are more than enough, you’ll notice the change instantly. My third tip: keep one colored background of your choice trough your feed. My favorite? White! Even when I post an outfit the natural light works fine. No white background? No worries! I then use something white in my picture. No white background at all? Again, no worries! Adjusting the brightness gives my pictures a white haze. As long the color white occurs, I’m perfectly fine with it. Tip four: find a rhythm of posting on your feed. For example: I start first with posting product pictures after that with outfits after that again product pictures after that selfies. So, on and on. This way to keep it matchy and variously on my feed. Tip five: hashtags! Hashtags! Hashtags! I can’t say it enough Loves. Using them works perfect for me. Also, post them in your caption post! If you wait even for a second to post them in a comment, they’re pretty worthless, as your post will be buried in that hashtag feed the instant you add it. Use popular hashtags, even when they don’t match your niche. I use sometimes celebrities’ names, brands, trending topics and random hashtags. I do this to change my position in Instagram, so that my picture can be find in every corner of the social media field. Last tip Loves: interact! The best way to get exposure is to interact with you followers, your readers and other bloggers. Support also other bloggers who are new in the field. Help them bloom too! I do this by being an admin of a lady’s only group on Instagram. We ladies support each other by liking, commenting and following each other. Want to be in my group too? Slide into my Dm! Sharing is caring, literally.

To end this blogpost Loves, feel free to copy and paste the hashtags! Remember: change them regularly with popular hashtags.

Beauty | My Top 3 High-End Make-Up Brands.

As a beauty fanatic I get butterflies in my stomach when I see beautiful makeup. I’m definitely a fan of attractive cases and packages. It’s like judging a book by its cover, with emphasis on judging. It’s like a kid in a candy store, like using lipstick as a little girl from your mother who said not too use it.

Let’s start with my number one, Chanel. From all the brands I used is Chanel definitely worth the prize. Everything is just perfect: the package, the quality, the structure and its non-chemical smell. The pigment has a good pigment and stays perfect during my day. Even when I don’t use it for a while, it ‘’doesn’t get old’’ like drying up. I also love the classic look. Black with a touch of gold and the white logo. So simple, yet so sophisticated.

The second brand on my list, Estee Lauder. I love the lipsticks of this brand. The pigment is perfect and goes smoothly over my lips. It’s also long lasting; I only do a touch up during my day. To see if I don’t have it on my teeth. Imagine smiling to your office crush with lipstick stains on your teeth, such horror! What I also like from this brand, is their beauty products. The Night Repair makes my skin soft and moisturize my skin perfectly. The Day Wear moisturizer gives a tint when you apply it. It’s like it melts into the shade of your own skin color when you use it. Quite impressive! I use it for a touch up or when I see dry places on my face to blend it in with the rest of my makeup.

Last but definitely not the least, Dior. J’adore Dior! To me this brand comes close to Chanel. Together with Chanel I call these brands the ‘’grownups brand.’’ The older I get, the more I treat myself with high-end quality products. Not that there is something wrong with drugstore brands, I’m an addict for those too! I mean it more as treating myself in a selfcare way. I’m obsessed with their perfumes; Dior Poison is my favorite. It has an oriental floral scent that makes you feel you’re wandering in Tokyo in a blossom forest. Like a fairytale! As you can see Loves, my color is pink red. I feel it comes close to my natural lip color. Even though I love makeup, I keep my daily makeup routine simple. When I do feel like let’s step it up a bit, I add eyeshadow and an eyeliner, a highlighter and instead of a BB cream I use a foundation. Writing about eyeshadow; a Dior eyeshadow palette is on my wish list. I know, I can’t help myself! Hihi…

What is your favorite high-end brand?

Event Report | ”Tick Tock…It’s Luxury O’ Clock.”

What I love the most about blogging is meeting new people. Especially when they welcome you with open arms. This is how I felt by the invite from lovely Mentari, the owner of Labeldeluxe.nl. The press event was hosted in Amsterdam at a pop-up store. The shop was small, I loved it. It gave me warmth and a personal feeling. It looked also very chic, what you could expect from luxury stores.

Speaking about luxury, when I look at the watches from Label Deluxe, I wander myself in luxury heaven. Versace, Roberto Cavalli, Karl Lagerfeld and Furla are some names you can find at the web shop. As you know me, I’m a sucker for classic items and I assure you you’ll find them at Label. Not only they have watches, but also jewelry. Which not only looks beautiful on your wrists, fingers, neck or ears but even in your jewelry box! It is also the perfect gift to give to loved ones. With Christmas right around the corner, is a timeless piece a worthy gift to give. It stays forever and never goes out of style. Absolutely the definition of long lasting!

Luxury equals popping bottles! Even though I don’t drink alcohol, these bottles are definitely eyecatchers. Especially now that there is a beautiful story behind the glitter bottles. The ingredients are vegan and organic. You also don’t need to be worried about the glitters on the bottles. The sparkle is eco-friendly! Which means biodegradable. Not only does Foodboard.nl think about the environment, but also the people. When you purchase the limited-edition bottles, the profit goes straight to a specialist center for people with COPD. It stands for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. The disease narrows the lungs, you literally want to gasp air. The bubbles of the chardonnay or prosecco represents air (bubbles) we can’t live without. I couldn’t agree more with their feel good, look good, do good motto!

Beauty Brands Agency was also present at the press event. I loved so much talking to the owner! She told me about the agency and the brands her agency represents. What I love about their work, is that they have a unique way to reach their brands and consumers. Their 360° brand activation strategy is a perfect approach for it. What I also love, is that they name the brands love brands. The brands are from all over the world and Beauty Brands Agency shares their beauty secrets.

When I think about luxury, I think about gold. The Devine Sensation body and facial sprays from Beaudelor.nl has literally golden leaves for a natural glow. I tried it at the event, I’m hooked! Imagine my happiness when I found an sample in the goodie bag. The key ingredients are gold and cashmere, definitely two ingredients to feel luxury on your skin.

The beauty world is very innovative. I was surprised to hear that Nomige.com works with your DNA and your own personal lifestyle to make products that exactly matches your DNA and lifestyle. Sounds so interesting! Using science for beauty is without a doubt the definition of luxury. Don’t be surprised about the price tag! Then again, you’ll have something unique based only on your skin type.

I had such an amazing time. Especially because I went with my big brother. After the press event we had dinner and fun as dessert. It was a perfect day!

Have you ever been at a press event?

Beauty | My Favorite Nail Polish Colors This Season.

New season equals new colors! I love how the earth changes its color pallet during the seasons. It looks like that the world changes its ‘’home interior’’ to make you feel new and refreshing at home. This refreshing feeling, I also feel with changing my wardrobe from summer clothes to autumn and winter friendly clothes. The color changes from light to dark and vice versa. Same goes for my nail polishes. I tend to paint my nails in pastel or light colors during summer and during fall or winter, I tend to paint them with warm tones. Preferably in red pinkish shades.

On this picture I painted my nails in a dark orange/reddish shade. I love this color, because it reminds me of the color of leaves when they change during autumn. I got this one for quite a while and it is still perfect for use. The polish goes smoothly over my nails, perfect for a budget goodie!

As I mentioned before, I prefer red pinkish shades, like my lipsticks. The two reddish shades are my favorite red color for nail polish. One looks to me as warm sweet red, not too red not too pink. Right in the middle! Of course, there should be a classic red shade in my collection. It is like having a black blazer hanging in your closet. Or the perfect jeans that suits perfectly around your booty! Just unmissable.

If I want to change my red pinkish routine, I mostly use brown shades. It looks amazing on my small hands. To exaggerate for my sake, I paint my nails in a different color like the grey shade on the picture. Purely to get out of my comfort zone! Next day I mostly go back to red pinkish shades. What can I do…It’s a habit!

What are your favorite colors during the seasons?

COLLAB | Fashion | My 10 Wardrobe Essentials Wishlist.

Pictures are originally from: Spartoo.nl

‘’I wish, I wish…’’ Wouldn’t it be amazing to have a bottle to rub so that a friendly genie comes out, who let all your wishes come true? Especially when the genie has an Anna Wintour fashion mind!

Wishlist’s perfect to make for the upcoming holidays. I don’t know about you Loves, but these lasts months of the year equals sale, sale, sale and sale! Think: Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Christmas shopping. Hello, discounts! Even more perfect when you can do your shopping online, while sitting comfortable in your pajama feeling the warmth of your fuzzy socks under your blanket. To make it even more comfortable, at Spartoo.nl you’ll find everything in one place.

So, let me share with you my wish list. I got this beige trench coat from Michael Kors and Levi bootcut jeans on top of my list. I love how chic the trench coat looks! It’s a perfect office style coat, which suits perfect with the bootcut jeans. Further down my list comes the Levi T-shirt. It’s weird, because this basic piece was always on my mind. However, when my paycheck comes, I always seem to forget it when I go shopping. I hope I don’t forget it because of this list. A golden watch comes next. This timepiece is from Michael Kors, I like the details of the watch and if you know me, you would know I like golden arm candy. It just never goes out of style!

The Ugg boot, you either love or hate it. And I love it! Years ago, I had one. I was so obsessed with it that I wore it the whole fall and winter season for….* drumrolls * four years! Don’t judge, those boots are expensive! The next piece on the list, is also a timeless item. The leather jacket is from Guess. I love the faux fur collar, inside the jacket is also layered with faux fur. Keeps me perfectly warm.

The beauty item on my list is the makeup pouch from Furla. I like that shade of red, suits perfect with my Guess red wallet. My list wouldn’t be complete without a bag on it. Yes, I’m a bag-a-holic and no I wouldn’t go to an AA meeting, if there was one! Next item on the list a Tommy Hilfiger wallet. Why? I don’t have particular reason, but I like it has a sophisticated chic look. Also, I’m obsessed with big wallets where I can put all my passes in. Last, but not least: biker boots. I already have one, but I want to update it to a new one. I have mine for quite a while and even though they are still perfect, it is time for a change.

What is on your wish list?

Lifestyle | Am I An Influencer Or Blogger?

This is a question I ask myself since the word influencer got a place in our vocabulary. I started with my blog five years ago and I see big differences from the moment I started until today. I still enjoy writing a blogpost, take pictures and hit the publish button. This hobby is something I would like to keep! But even I cannot deny that the blogging world is changed, this change you either love or hate it. And I have certainly mixed feelings about it!

These thoughts started for me since I noticed that my blog doesn’t get the interactions I use to have. Follows, comments and likes are pluming down and I don’t like it! I’m not hungry for them however, they do show appreciation for my hard work. These interactions are to me proof that I did a good job, I feel appreciated that I get them. You can say that it feels like getting an A for your exam. A good feeling, right?

Yes, I do understand to keep those interactions you should have a strategy. You should know when to post, which hashtags you should use and know all the algorithms of all your social media! Does this not sound to you as an annoying person yapping into your ears? It makes me only feel pressured, doesn’t feel like fun to me. This is the change that I don’t like in the blogging world. To stay relevant, it has to be bigger and better. Or you are just like a needle in a ‘’influencer haystack’’. Don’t let me speak about the dramas that comes with it! #jamescharlesisoverparty #mannymuaiscancelled and many other hashtags that came to life. Ugh, the dragging down of each other, those feuds! To me it is just a waste of time. We all are in the same boat, why is it so hard to mind your own business and be kind and respectful towards each other? And I’m not only talking about these beauty gurus. How about those Instagram influencers who feel too high of themselves to answer a simple blogging related question, because they think that you want to steal their secrets?

Don’t get me wrong, I know how it feels to work hard for something that you put your heart into. And that you want to keep some secrets to yourself because of it. I definitely don’t blame you for this! It is your right to do so however, chill. No need for attitudes! I’m a firm believer of the give and take life motto. Nothing wrong answering a question about which filter you use for your Instagram feed.

To answer my own question, am I an influencer or a blogger? I liked to be called a blogger. I understand the influencing part when it comes to blogging. I write about brands that I love and are bought by myself, but I also worked with brands who sponsored me. I create an opinion about the product, my opinion can be followed or not. Because of it, I influence too. Why am I calling myself a blogger? Because in the five years of my blogging life, I never ‘’took’’ something I don’t believe in. I never got paid for something, I never felt pressured to write a fake blogpost about it. I’m to down-to-earth for that, thank God! Who wants to live in a plastic fantastic world? Not me. I call myself a blogger, because in the five years I blog I have not created a following that are so big, that I can make a brand for myself to sell my own merchandise. I call myself a blogger, because I still write blogposts. My blog is my own creative world, where I can be creative on my own terms and still have a good conscience.

What is your opinion about influencing?

Event Report | BuyLau – Influencer Closet Sale.

I went with my sister to the influencer closet sale hosted by Laura Ponticorvo. She is a Dutch-Italian media personality. I was invited by the sweet owner of LabelDeluxe.nl. Not only do I feel blessed for getting the opportunity to attend an event, I also get to meet new people and I love this the most. So, back to the event loves, clothes! Clothes! Clothes! I wandered in a stalls Walhalla of different goodies. From makeup to hair extensions to cupcakes. It was a mix of everything!

They thought about everything. A DJ fixed the music, a small food truck was available and plenty photograph backgrounds and boots to shoot pictures. As the name of the event says it: there was a lot of Dutch influencers holding their closet sales. I saw some familiar faces who I sometimes watch on their YouTube channels. Some I didn’t have a clue, but it was nice to see a glimpse of their closets.

The event had a dress code, it was black and white with a touch of gold. On my Instagram you could see the white that I wore with the touch of gold. Of course, I wore my Just Cavalli golden heart bracelet!

I saw many colorful clothes and this bohemian style caught my eyes. Same goes for denim, I love denim! A good pair of jeans just never goes out of style.

Of course, I visited the stall from LabelDeluxe. All those arm candies were a joy to look at! Did you know that they also sell Furla, Versace and more luxury items? Definitely your time and purchase worth. Not only does a good jewelry piece add flair into your outfit, it stays always as a classic item in your jewelry box if you decide not to wear it.

Have you ever attended an event?

COLLAB |Fashion| My Luxury Pieces.

Who doesn’t love luxury? And it can be a high-end beauty product, shoes and even taking a bath with your favorite bath bomb after a long stressful day. Or that last macaron piece you graved since your quick breakfast before work. We all love those heavenly moments!

But this blogpost is dedicated to shameless gasping at fashion accessories I recently purchased, two goodies from my favorite brand Guess. I even dedicated a blogpost about my humbled Guess collection. Adding this bag into it…Oops! The handbag called: ‘’Jacqui.’’ Say it in that fake French accent, I don’t judge. I promise! Has orange straps that I quite love. I can wear it as a crossbody bag too, perfect! The combination of golden details with the camel color of the bag and the logos on it, gives that extra luxury vibe. Like sprinkling shamelessly salt in salt bae style.

Statement pieces, that little bit over the top vibe to give your outfit that last bit of extra. This is what I feel with these Just Cavalli from Labeldeluxe.nl arm candy. First, let me talk about the round package it comes with. Doesn’t it give you the chic feeling of having them stalled on a vanity right next to your other luxury pieces?

As you know me Loves, I like when you add some flair into your outfit. The snake ring gives the illusion of crawling around my finger. The pattern and details, it even got little dots as eyes and a tip at the end of the tail, makes the ring definitely a statement piece. Silver and gold, who said it can’t be a combination? I like that only the snakehead is gold, like it jumps out of the bracelet and holds the strap with his mouth.

Writing about gold, the heart of the bracelet has also a ssssnake pattern with a keyhole in the middle. It is finished with little white stones on top of the heart, I like this little detail. So sophisticated!

Jewelry comes next to bags as luxury pieces you can keep forever. Years will pass by and it always come back in trends sooner or later. So, take care of them and mostly enjoy.

I always said that black and gold is such a classic combination, it just never goes out of style. Summer can be over, but the sunglasses is perfectly useable for the next. I wanted a sunnie from a good quality and UV protection.

Since my favorite brand had sale on their sunglasses the choice was easily made. It is the perfect cat eyed sunnie for my oval face, what more could I wish for?

Event Report | Glamour Magazine NL X Rabobank.

‘’It’s all about the money, money, money!’’ A subject that concerns us all. Some live paycheck to paycheck, some live like royals and some cannot even come near a price tag. We rule money and money rules us. So, I was happy to get invited by GlamourNL to attend the event hosted by GlamourNL itself and Rabobank, a Dutch bank. My first thought was: perfect! Maybe I’ll hear great tips for saving money. The method I have for saving money is still going strong, but let’s learn more.

As expected, GlamourNL hosted the event in a beautiful venue in Amsterdam at the Vondelpark. Without a doubt I took pictures and shared them on my Instagram. I was excited about, not only I wanted to be informed about the ins and outs of money, but I also went to it with Esra. Going to an event was a first to her. I loved how excited she was, I believe that she learned a lot from it. Definitely an educated fun day!

We have been told by editor in chief Anke de Jong what to expect during the event. It started with a #bossbabe from Rabobank, who spoke about investing, interest, ratios and all money subjects you can think of. I was more interested in advice on how to save money and different ways to earn money. I have heard the usual, don’t smoke, don’t go to coffee to go shops. Save that money in a jar! After the informative part came personal stories from behind the scene #bossbabes from GlamourNL. I loved hearing their personal stories! How they save money, how did they make good investments when they bought their houses. Their experience felt real, because one day in the future I want to think about doing a mortgage, or not. Either way hearing their experiences helped a lot. It was also a pleasure to hear how they earn an extra next to their jobs. Selling online your stuff was one of them, which made me think that I should do it more often, then just once in a while. I’m sure I got plenty of things to sell that I can make someone else happy with!

Entrepreneurs Ron Simpson from The Avocado Show and Noor de Groot of Queen of Jet Lags were also speaking at the event. I loved hearing how their dreams became real by jumping into their ‘’dare it’’ motivation! At the end, its indeed the best motivation to make your dreams come true.

I also loved hearing from Ron that once you get, give back. Help others in the best way you can. A perfect saying to finish the event of….And this blogpost.

Lifestyle | ”So, What Do You Study?”

On my Instagram I show you a glimpse of my daily college life. I study in Amsterdam and I go there by train and the subway. I travel for my college almost an hour and if there are no public transport delays, I don’t mind the travel. After years of switching studies and personal setbacks, am I finally in a good place. I am in the middle off my third year of college and still need one year to graduate. Even though I got difficult reports to make and I have to make hard exams, is my motivation still high to make the most of it!

Sometimes I need to remind myself to stay productive. I shared with you how I prepare for my college, it is still the way how I do it. Planning and making to-do lists help me very well. Let us be honest, same old routines take the best of us! Without it I don’t know what to do and with it, I forget to take care of myself because I’m so busy with it. My study does bring me stress, especially these last months I have left. My simple ways to relieve stress comes definitely in handy!

So, I study Pedagogy. Freely translated it means educational theory. The British encyclopedia says about pedagogy  that it is a study of teaching methods, including the aims of education and the ways which such goals may be achieved, the field relies heavily on educational psychology, which encompasses scientific theories of learning, and to some extend on the philosophy of education, which considers the aims and value of education from a philosophical perspective.

The target audience are children and young adults aged from 0 to 23 years. The main focus is to create a safe haven for them, involving the parents or guardians and if relevant, other care providers. The reason why I chose this study is because I’m very curious about the human mind. The second thing is that I’m a very caring individual and would like to help others with their hardships and psychological struggles. I get a lot of satisfaction from a counseling process where I see a client grow and getting back on his or her own two feet.

This is it Loves; this is the reason why I don’t post often on my blog. But don’t worry, college is almost over which means, almost back to my blogging business!

Beauty | My Currently Favorite Makeup Products.

I just love when I buy makeup products that I truly use and not letting collecting dust on my shelves or vanity. I have been looking through my makeup collection and I noticed that I either use one brand the whole time. I even buy a new one if I almost finish it, while I have the same product just in another brand laying right next to it! It is quite a waste of money and we all have to know that some makeup products won’t last forever. When the expiration date is over, we need to accept it’s over! I know, it can be hard. We all have been to that point in our lives and I’m not only talking about makeup, if you know what I mean *kuch…kuch…that denim jeans we fitted before those extra pounds…kuch*, so time to step back, reflect and make better choices!

So, instead of running to Douglas to buy goodies that I already have, I went shopping into my own makeup collection. Since I saw the best Essence Cosmetics mascara budget mascara on Reddit, I’m hooked too! It does what it says, you feel like princess with your long eyelashes. I had my Bobbi Brown BB Cream in shade medium for a long time hiding in my makeup drawers. I did not think about it, until I caught myself buying the same BB Cream I use for ages. Time for a change! I’m so liking the Bobbi Brown BB Cream, it has such a good coverage for a BB Cream. I don’t even have to use a concealer to blemish my impurities. How great is that!

Dior, one of my favorite high-end brands. The quality is so good that you don’t need to use a lot for a perfect look. The lip balm moisturizes my lips very well and it leaves a sweet pinkish glow behind. Just Perfect! If I could let you smell Miss Dior perfume, I would Loves. It has a sweet yet wooden smell. A feminine scent with the good of two worlds, sweet and strong!

Makeup brushes, also a thing that I buy when I see one. It’s crazy how many I have. The only good thing about it, is having it back hand when I need to wash my brushes. Even though I have a lot they work very well. The ones from Primark is such a budget goodie! So why change a winning team, right Loves?

I have been looking for ages for the right peachy blush. It was quite a journey, I wanted the right shade. Whenever I thought I had it, I end up with a too orange pigment! Looking like an Oom-pah Loompa is not my intention to be. Glad I found it with the Coral Spectrum blush palette from Zoeva. It has a good pigment, a soft formula and not a chemical smell. The right things I need in makeup. Also, such a holy grail: Huda Beauty 3D highlight palette. I have the Pink Sands shades, the glow it gives is just amazing! To finish it off Loves, MAC Prep + Prime in Rose scented fix pray is such a good product that does what it needs to do: securing makeup all day long!

It was nice sharing with you my currently favs Loves, I’m curious about yours!

COLLAB |Beauty| Going Natural With Ziaja – Currently In My Shower!

Loves, I told you in my blogpost about my facial care products that I since I’m getting older, think more about which products I use. It is not like all of a sudden, I go vegan or ecofriendly. However, I do want to explore my options and maybe in the future I go all the way in. They say the older, the wiser, right!

Let me introduce you to mine currently in the shower goodies. I want to start off with the Argan & Tsubaki Oils hair products line from Ziaja. I know the brand for a while now and I love their products! Loves, this is a genuine collaboration as was the first one. Their products are based on natural products which equals to no skin irritations. Unless you are allergic to something, let me put this disclaimer right here! So, back to Argan & Tsubaki oils, sounds exotic right! Argan oil is the liquid gold from Morocco. Tsubaki oil is made from Japanese Camelia and Rise oil. The scent smells so good! Love it! I wish I could make you smell it trough your phones, tablets and desktops! The shampoo cleans not only my hair but my scalp too. It makes my hair feel soft and pliant and it restores my volume. On top of that, it contains no silicone and parabens. The hair mask of the line takes care of the hair without weighing it down. I felt it when I used it for the first time. The hair conditioner smoothing spray can be used on wet hair and dry hair. I like this because I apply it on the ends of my hair for that extra shine!

During showering I use Sukin foaming facial cleanser. It contains no chemicals at all! Their ‘’no list’’ contains no artificial colors, sulphates, parabens, silicones and many more. Without rinsing my face, I use an apricot scrub creme from Dutch drugstore Kruidvat. The apricot pits are grinded and mild to use for exfoliating dead skin cells. Sometimes I use a round facial brush with it, but not all the time. I love this scrub crème, it makes my skin feels soft and not tight, if you know what I mean Loves.

For my body I use Rituals Ritual Of Sakura. I love the smell of cherry blossom, it reminds me of spring and the trees look so beautiful! I like the luxury of their products, they look so chic! You really feel like you’re in a luxurious spa resort. It is also great to hear that they are trying to make their journey to greener practices. It makes me feel a little less guilty!

What kind of products are you currently using in your shower Loves?

Who isn’t curious about what people take with them in their bags? Just admit Loves, there is something mysterious about it. It is so personal, because of it you will get a person a little bit better. So, get to know me more!

First, I want to tell you about the backpack. It is from Gaston Luga, a Swedish brand that cares about animal wellbeing! The leather they use is made out of polyurethane leather. The material looks and feels like real leather but is lighter and easier maintainable.

I rarely use a backpack but on this one I’m hooked! I love how it is small but has the right size. The golden details and black is a perfect combination and the first thing that I noticed about the bag is that it’s made from good quality! It feels firm and well stitched. On the inside there are three compartments, one for a 11inch or 13inch laptop. Which is a perfect fit for my MacBook air! The other compartments have the same size, I use it for my passport and business cards.

Going further with what’s in my bag Loves, is my makeup bag. I have this cute one from Hunkemöller, the Victoria Secret of Europe also my work place as a sales employee. I love how it stays firm, it doesn’t dent because of the other things I take with me or due to any other pressures. Next thing I take with me is of course my wallet. Yes, I like big ones so I can take all my cards with me. From credit cards to discount cards to business cards from brands or people I meet. I also make my wallet personal, there is a picture of my mother in it at the age of 16, my little niece and little brothers. I wish I could take a whole photo album of my dear family with me!

My phone, a thing I can’t live without. Not only to be attainable, but also to work on my blog, make college appointments and listen to music. Which makes me go to the next thing I have in my bag: earplugs. I feel like I lost something when I forgot to take it with me. Listening to music is a thing I do when I’m on the road to college or during workout. It makes me escape my daily routines and thoughts!

When it comes to writing down appointments or exams dates, am I a fan of paper planners or diary. Same goes for notebooks. I write a lot of notes and other scribbles simple because I tend to forget things to do or I get inspired about something and I need to write it down.

So, I’m happy packed with Gaston Luga! You can too Loves, because you can use my code SAIDA for 15% off! You also get a FREE toiletry bag and gift wrapping at your purchase. Perfect for a valentine’s day gift or just for yourself, because selfcare is important too. Either way, happy shopping Loves!

Lifestyle | 10 Things I Can’t Live Without.

As I’m writing this blogpost, I’m feeling thankful. I do what I love on a laptop that I wanted and needed. Not only do I use it for my blogging, but also for my college. Making reports to writing blogposts and store pictures is just a glimpse of what I do on my laptop.

The next item I can’t live without, just like many Loves, is my phone. I got an iPhone 8+ and it works perfectly. It is just like my laptop, but in a small size. Again, I do everything with it. Post something on my social media to making notes.

Writing about notes, notebooks! You always will find one in my bag. They are perfect for writings and for to-dos. I also write my blog ideas in it, quick college notes and other scribbles. I am a hoarder when it comes to notebooks. When I see cute ones, I can’t resist to take it and put in the shopping basket. I have them in different shapes and sizes, it is truly like an addiction!

Drinking lots of water is such a struggle, I even forget it! Simply because I’m too busy during my day. To remind myself I got myself a water bottle, a sugar pink one that I put in my bag for on the go.

To relax and have me time after a hectic day, I light candles in my room. When I put the lights out and put a movie on or watch a series on Netflix I come to rest. My body goes instantly into the relaxing mode. I can watch good series or a movie for hours! On top of that, it suits my room decor perfectly.

As I’m writing this list, I have ended up with beauty related items. Wipes are definitely something I need in my bag. They come such in need when I just have eaten between my classes or I feel that my hands need a wipe.

I have to use hand cream after using wipes or washing my hands. My hands tend to feel taut and dry. So, I had to add it into my list! I feel so annoyed when I don’t find one in my bag that I let them in my bags for when I take another bag with me.

Same goes for lip gloss! I’m hooked on the ones from Dior. They are quite long lasting that I only apply it once or twice during my day. Even the glow fades away, I still feel my lips are well moisturized.

When I make myself ready to go, either to my classes or run errands, I have to use perfume. It turned into a habit for me. After using deodorant, I spray perfume on my neck, wrists and on my clothes and hair. I love how the scent pops up when you move during the day!

Jewellery is the last item on my list. If you know me well Loves, I love to add flair into an outfit. Jewellery adds that flair! I feel quite ‘’naked’’ when I forget to put earrings on or rings around my fingers. I just love how it looks on my hands and wrists!

Beauty |Skin Care Products I Use Daily.

As I’m getting older, am I thinking more about the products that I use. When it comes to my facial care, I think about it even more than about other products like for my body. The first thing that I look at when it comes to buying facial care products is, does it suit my oily-dry combined skin? I have the well-known oily t-zone and dry upper jawline dryness problem. It was difficult for me to find the perfect one. One that doesn’t have a greasy formula and does not leave greasiness behind.

I have learned at the skin care masterclass at Glamour Magazine NL Beauty Festival, that the smell doesn’t say anything about the product. Whether it smells like roses or like chemicals, it is literally the inside that counts. I immediately understood why I like the drugstore cream from the Dutch brand Kruidvat Originals. It is made of tea tree, it works for my skin very purifying. At first, I couldn’t stand the smell, but now I can’t live without it!

I am truly amazed by the Cellular Beauty line from Lidl. I mean, who doesn’t want to try a dupe from La Prairie? Again, I like the formula of this serum. It’s not greasy and it absorbs quickly into my skin. During my day I feel that my skin is well moisturized, it feels soft too! On top of that, it has a lightly citrus scent. Perfect! I use this one when I feel that I need a break from the other one. I thought my facial skin wouldn’t handle the switch, once in a while. I thought wrong!

Break outs, who doesn’t know those annoying intruders. As fast they come, as fast I want them to leave! Clearasil Rapid Action Pads is my saviour! I apply the pads on the break out and rub it out. I feel that it stings and in a couple of minutes I feel that the pimple shrinks, the next day or two it’s gone. Sleeping with no makeup helps to prevent break outs and I always use a towel only for my face. This can be a small one, perfect to store in my room vanity.

I have heard a lot about the products from Paula’s Choice. I got curious and I was happy to see one in the goodie bag of the Glamour Beauty Festival. I like that it has a 50 SPF. Products who has a SPF of 30 or more, are good for preventing signs of ageing. It also defends skin against sun damage. What more do I need?

Once in week I try to use my Swiss Clinic Derma Roller. I love how it goes through my skin, it makes my pores open and it boosts my collagen production. My skin turns a bit red however, it glows afterwards. I love this roller! I feel that it ‘wakes’ my skin up after all those dirty substances from outside.

What are your favourite facial care products? Share with me your secrets for a that beautiful glow!

Lifestyle | Coffee Table Books.

I have a love and hate relationship with books. When I was younger, I devoured book after book, from novels to biographies. As I got older, I slacked reading them and the rise of social media didn’t help me either. To be honest I miss those days where I dropped my backpack in a corner and went straight to my room to read my favourite book at the moment.

I’m trying to get that feeling back so, I smile when I find the perfect coffee table book to start with getting back into the reading rhythm. The short poems/stories from Rupi Kaur is one of my favourites at the moment. Some are so relatable, funny and sad at the same time. Definitely books that takes you riding back to your memory lane.

Fashion related books makes me smile too. The quotes give you a glimpse of the thoughts from fashion designers and stylists. It is fun to read and some you need to take with a grain of salt. I love the pictures or illustrations you’ll find in the books. Many are taken or drawn by well know photographers and illustrators who works behind the scenes of a photoshoot, event or even a fashion magazine! So, not only it gives me a glimpse of their thoughts but, also the events they visited and since I like to visit events for my blog is it for me fascinating to look at.

Same goes for the book How to be Parisian wherever you are, from Sophie Mas, Audrey Diwan, Caroline de Maigret and Anne Berest. The book is about love, style and bad habits with many anecdotes and how-to. A book that makes you take life not seriously and enjoy the moment. Perfect for days when you want to laugh and imagine you wandering styled like a Parisian in the middle of Paris in the Larudée shop eating your favourite macaron and sipping tea. Ugh…Dreaming about it already!

Which book do you like to have on your coffee table? Share it with me and maybe I’ll add it too!

Event Report | Glamour Beauty Festival.

Last Sunday I went with my sister to the Glamour Magazine NL Beauty Festival. It was so amazing! My sister and me had a wonderful time, not only we spend quality time together but wandered trough a beauty heaven! They also chose the perfect location for it, marble and wooden, gold details everywhere. If you know me, you’ll know that I’m marble obsessed! So, imagine my feeling when I put my first step into the location. The fun part of it is, that I knew the location due to my studies. I paid more attention to the architecture than to the lecture, oops! Just by looking at the pictures I took, you would agree with me.

During the festival you could do many things like paint your nails, get a massage, do your hair and makeup! There were also many workshops, from skincare to food to men talk and brands stalls to inform you about their latest products. My sister and me did a lot, we almost forgot the time for the skincare masterclass. Oh, I’m forgetting fries! With pink mayonnaise! Seriously, pink!

There was a moneybox, where you go inside and have to catch a pink ticket while wind blows in the box. If you catch it, you’ll get a surprise gift. I felt like Charlie in the chocolate factory, my inner child woke up and I went in. I didn’t win, but it was fun to be in it!

My sister and I wandered through the stalls and informed ourselves about their products. I was curious about Moroccan oil, Cluse and Zadig & Voltaire. While I was at it, I got a touch up at the Givenchy stall. The makeup artist did so lovely that I took a selfie!

As I said, I attended a skincare masterclass. The speaker talked about all the ins and outs of skincare and it was good to hear the information. She talked about acne, preventing breakouts, natural products, chemical products and how important it is to use a day creme with SPF. She also answered a lot of questions and said that it is not scientifically proven that you get spots from eating chocolate. Good news right!

The main act was *drum rolls* Nikkie Tutorials with a live Q&A! She and her tutorials are pleasuring to look at. She gave honest answers and was down to earth. We also had a great laugh because during the Q&A she made jokes and references in which you will recognize yourself. Of course, she came all glammed up and it was so lovely. By the way, the rumours are true, she is tall!

It was such a fun day, I hope I can share my experience trough the pictures I took!

Beauty | Luxurious Lips.

When it comes to beauty products, I can get so excited just by looking at them! Most of the packages and casings have a luxurious appearance that I feel like a kid in a candy store. So much to choose from!

As you can see Loves, I prefer pink-red shades of lipsticks or glosses, because I believe that they match my skin tone. I don’t know if it’s just me, but it gives me a radiant look. They also come close to my natural lip colour especially the lip glosses. Perfect for a daily look!

I added new MAC Lipsticks into my MAC collection. It’s getting bigger and colourful! I even added a brown/wine red shaded one, a colour I normally won’t choose. I’m wearing on this picture MAC Liptensity lipstick in shade Eros. The pigment is so pigmented that I only used a bit, I put my lips together and it was all over my lips. I applied it then on the corners of my lips for a whole look.

Matt lipsticks does not have my preference, I prefer glossy ones. The ones that you can put easily on and remove quickly. I found that perfect one with Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick in shade #340 Envious. It goes so smoothly over my lips and it has the perfect red shade! I get a girly vibe when I apply Chanel Rouge Coco in shade #448 Elise. I have written a blogpost about it and I’m still in love with it. I mean, just looking at the Chanel logo makes me excited. Writing about being excited, I also had that feeling when I bought my first Yves Saint Laurent lipstick. I have chosen a sweet pink shade number 43. This sweet pink comes so close to my own lip colour that I don’t need to apply much.

Lip glosses are my ‘’on the road hero’s’’. Perfect for those days when you are in a rush and don’t have time to apply your makeup. Having one in my bag comes so handy! I apply it on my lips to distract it from my tired eyes. Or on my cheekbones for that quick glowy look.

Christian Dior is also a brand I fell in love it. They have such beautiful makeup that I couldn’t chose which beauty product I want. So, when I decided to buy a lipstick, I chose Rouge Dior Baume #568 in shade Rose Rose. It even smells like roses!

What is your perfect shade Loves?

Fashion | GUESS Obsessed.

As long as I can remember, is GUESS one of my favourite brands when it comes to accessories. My first designer bag was a small crossbody blue bag. I was obsessed with it! Since then my love for the brand grew. What I love about the brand is that they have different styles in bags, shoes, wallets and more. From edgy to chic to bohemian, every woman or man will find her or his dream item. I never bought something and later regretted it!

When it comes to bags, I prefer shoppers or handbags with a strap. The first thing that I think about when I look for a bag, is the size the perfect size? I have the habit to take more than I need. So, it has to be a perfect! The shopper is called the Isabeau, I have written a blogpost about it. I wanted an edgy bag, a bag I usually don’t chose easily. But, this time I thought why not? The baby blue snakeskin detailed bag caught my eyes instantly, edgy and yet chic!

My second love for accessories is on the wallets from GUESS. The grey wallet suits perfectly with the Isabeau bag. The wine-red small wallet is perfect for when I decide to take a small bag. My latest purchase is the red wallet. It has many card compartments, an important thing, and golden details. I love that combination, it just never goes out of style! Same goes for the wallet, it has to be the right size. I put cards, of course money and my business cards. I also have coupons and pictures in it. I always make my things personal, especially when they are new. Only then I have the feeling that it’s truly mine.

I always have believed that jewellery makes an outfit complete. The watch has been given to me as a gift by my sister. The bangles have quotes engraved in them. The gold one has ‘’believe in yourself’’ in it and the rose plated has ‘’always & forever’’ in it. Such cute quotes! Definitely ones to remember.

What is your favourite brand?

Lifestyle | I’m Ready For Autumn.

Is it just me? Autumn sounds better than fall. Autumn comes to its right when I pronounce it like that. I instantly think about falling leaves in the colour orange, yellow and brown. I think about chestnuts and acorns on the ground that crunches when you step on it without knowing. I like when the sun still shines even though you feel the wind blowing on your face. Autumn is not my favourite season, but the colourful nature is beautiful to look at.

New season means also to me, where I stand with my goals. Which goals I already achieved, and which one are not achievable. Some goals I’ll change and some goals I’m letting go. Either way, I reflect on what I have done and what needs to be done. I also take my mind off things so, I read some books. I’m lately into short stories or poems. It gives me that boost to go on.

Autumn = candles obsession! I light them mostly every night when I want to read or watch movies and series on Netflix. It also gives that cosy vibe in my room, I love it!

Room decorating is also a thing I like to do. I keep it simple, just changing small décor items. I like to match it with the colours of my room, which are black, white, rose gold and marble. I have a little crush on the rose gold clock and apple. It gives my room that finishing touch.

During autumn my wardrobe also changes, obviously. I namely wear ankle boots because it makes my legs look longer. Especially when I wear black ankle boots with a black skinny jean. I also tend to wear autumn colours, like black and grey. I adjust my accessories too, also in warm colours. Like my brown basket.

Now, my autumn beauty routine. I get a combination of oily and dry skin, so I apply another facial crème than my usual facial creme. My makeup changes too, especially the colours. I prefer to use pink and glowy beige for that natural glow. The perfume that I use during the new season goes to musk and arum instead of summer scents. My go to perfume at the moment is Trussardi My Name.

I’m trying to enjoy the fullest this season because of these simple things. Are you ready for autumn too Loves?

Beauty | Oil My Hair Softly.

I have been on vacay to Morocco and I wouldn’t be from Moroccan origin if I don’t bring back oils. They can be used for anything, face, body and hair. Every Moroccan beauty queen swears by argan oil, the Moroccan liquid gold. Black seed oil for getting strong hair, rose oil for moisturizing your face and applying a drop on your hair for that sweet rose scented smell. Two birds in one stone!

As long as I can remember, oil belongs into my haircare routine. After I shower and let my hair dry for a bit, the first thing I do is use argan oil or blackseed oil on my hair. I have written a blogpost about argan oil and its benefits. I still swear by it because it is a truly holy grail when it comes to my hair.  Argan oil is proven to make hair softer, silkier and shinier. It is the ideal hair conditioner, and it can even help to treat split ends and tame frizzy hair. Due to its ability to tame frizz and give hair shine, argan oil is also commonly used as a styling agent. It makes hair more manageable and adds a healthy, attractive shine to any hair style. This is an ideal step to add to my daily routine after blow-drying or shower. I rub a few drops of argan oil over my palms and then comb my fingers through my hair.

Black seed oil is such a powerful oil, it truly does its wonders. It’s well known for its purifying benefits to clear acne prone skin. It nourishes the skin and within weeks your skin gets clearer! It smells like wet wood in a forest, at first its heavy and then its only leaving his nature vibe. A drop is more than enough, add it with your favourite conditioner for a quick hair mask boost or in your favourite facial creme for that natural healthy glow.

I use rose oil after I style my hair to get it shinier. It also gives my hair that perfect rose scented smell, like perfume. You also can use it as a bath oil to nourish you skin. It’s makes your body feel so soft! I sometimes use it on my hands and feet’s when I go to bed. It makes my skin softer and my cuticles are because of it, easier to manicure.

I cannot live without my oils! It’s truly rooted in my hair and facial routine. I remember when I was a child, that during my holiday in Morocco my aunts and niece comb my hair and use argan oil for my hair. Back home in the Netherlands my lovely mother would do the same. As a grown up I continue to do so and even pass it on my daughter!

Note To Loves | I’m On Vaycay, See You Soon! XO S.

It has been two years since I’ve been on a vacation, that sounds crazy! I missed everything about my roots: the culture, architecture, mosaics and the colourful souks. The natural beauty products and their traditional fashionable clothing. Gosh, I missed my great grandmother and her feminist stories with a touch of humour! Her laughs and her wise life lessons, I missed her a lot. I missed the farm of my grandfather and the sound of his voice when he calls me or my little brothers from far. As a born and raised Moroccan girl in the Netherlands, is the Moroccan vibe we have here not the same as in Morocco. Surely, versatile Morocco.

I’m going to Morocco by car, driven by my hero of a dad. We go through Belgium, France and Spain before we take the ferry to Tangiers. It’s going to be a long trip, but definitely one with joy and a touch of annoyance, because of sleepyheads that drops on your shoulders.

The first thing that I do is settle in our home. I have the habit to go through every room and corner to visually remind myself of memories that I have experienced in our home. Then I visit my room and make it my own and homey as soon as possible! Only then I’m able to rest and enjoy my vacay. Loves, are you excited as I am? Follow my journey during my trip on my Instagram and see a glimpse of Morocco and get inspired!

During my vacay I hope to work on my time management. I really want to learn it, because I’m juggling between my studies, blog work and chores. It’s like that 24 hours isn’t enough! I worked with planners and to do lists, it’s not working for me. If you have any tips Loves, share them with me! I’m happy to try them out.

Back to my vacay: you can read my excitement, yay! Have you been to Morocco or another Islamic country? I’m curious about your experience, if you blogged about it feel free to share your links.

Lifestyle | How I Spend My Lazy Summer Days.

Oh, lazy summer days I waited for you with yearn. Since you came I want to spend my summertime with joy and laziness, hello life! You can imagine my feeling when you finish your college semester, or you go to your well-deserved holiday after months of hard work. My pre vacay days (Morocco here I come!) started and I want to share with you Loves how I spend my lazy summer days.

The most important thing I do is adjusting my night’s rest. During my studies I sleep sometimes just for three or four hours for days. Especially the days when I’m busy writing reports and learn for my exams. Those days are horrible, because at the end I’m feeling it in body and mind. I’ll be less energetic and cranky during my day. So, I’m trying to get at least six to eight hours sleep during my pre vacay days. When I wake up I feel so rested that I feel truly flourished and I will enjoy my day.

My semester is over so, I have more time to read other things than my study books. I like to read true crime stories like Judas from Astrid Holleeder or short poems/stories like Milk & Honey from Rupi Kaur. Either I want to wander in a true story, a short one where I can catch some feelings or flip senseless trough magazines.

What I also do is pampering myself. It can be easy as doing my makeup, fixing my hair or take a hot shower and moisture my body with a moisturizing body lotion. These simple things are to me like a quick confident boost, I feel self-confidence and energetic and ready to rock my day.

Obviously, Netflix belongs into my lazy summer days. Watching episodes, a whole season and feeling empty when I’m finished it, is just rooted in my daily work. I confess: Netflix is like a drug. I get easily hooked when I show is so good!

What are your summer lazy day moments Loves?

Fashion | Let’s Go To The Beach!

During summer I feel that the sky is the limit. I feel more energetic, confident and my skin glows. The weather is getting hotter, I’m getting active and love is in the air. I wish I could have summer all year around! Summer wouldn’t be summer if you plan at least one trip to the beach to enjoy your leisure. So, dream with me about going to the beach Loves!

I’m going to the beach and I’m taking with me without a doubt a good fitting swimwear. My tankini did his job, I’m in love! Of course, it should be blue it’s my favourite colour and I like the combination of a tank top with a bikini slip a lot. It adds flair onto your beach day outfit when you wrap a scarf around your hips. The tank top fits perfectly on my pear-shaped body and the bikini slip fits just right on my bum. Hunkemöller is such a paradise when it comes to swimwear, with their diversity of it you’ll find your dream piece. Super model Doutzen Kroes launched her swimwear collection and they are stunning. Don’t even let me write about the accessories they have: heaven!

Sun equals fun and sunscreen, it is so important to use a SPF protection. Sunburn is the downside of a beach day. So, don’t let it ruin your day! When the day comes to an end you feel like you don’t want to go home and you’re in need of a quick refreshment, is a water bottle spray a true holy grail. Perfect for those stuffy nights. Beach day equals also less is more, no makeup because of the natural glow you’ll getting, flip flops and sunglasses to enjoy nature (read: checking out sun kissed six packs).

Share with me your perfect beach day Loves!

Lifestyle | My Desk & Room Decor Ideas.

Am I the only one who has a habit of alteration when a new season comes up? During spring and summer, I prefer my room all tide up, open, minimal and invariably in the colours white, black, marble and rose gold. A clear house or room means to me a clear mind so, cleaning and decorating my room is for me an energizer to be all boosted up into the new season!

First, I want you Loves to meet my desk. I have a typical white Ikea desk with one drawer and under it a cabinet. I put the drawer the usual desk things like washi tape, post-its, stapler, hole puncher etc. In the cabinet I put study books, syllabuses and other study works. On top of my desk I put my favourite décor piece: my grid. As you can see Loves, I’m hanging on it cards and reminders. I also keep a magazine, notebooks and a portfolio of my fashion sketches. Next, I have my desk lamp, a rose gold geometric décor item from Primark and a Starbucks cup where I put empty batteries in to recycle. To store my memory cards and big clips, I put it in a green glass box. This way I stored it and have it within reach. For my daily task I place the papers in a to-do tray and when I’m done with it, I put in the done tray. In the last tray I put my printouts in it to remind myself of my to-do’s and goals. I also have a desk planner where I write my weekly to-dos, appointments and errands to run. What I don’t like from my desk is my pencils and pen holders, I basically just put them in square vases. I want to change this, but I have no idea how! Share with me your ideas Loves.

My favourite corner of my room is definitely where my bookcases stand. I store not only books and magazines but also my makeup and other beauty products like perfumes and oils for my hair. For I quick touch up I placed a rose gold mirror to look at before I go. I also have my jewellery displayed, not the ones I wear daily but the ones for occasions. To cosy my room a bit up I placed candles on it. Everything I don’t want to see I stored in small boxes or bags.

Blogging is something I love the do, even though I lack time management. To keep the joy of it, I printed my name which is also my blog link and slogan on aluminium at Fotofabriek.nl. I am so in love with it, it turned out so well! It feels like I have immortalized my blog on a picture. It came at the right time because I wanted to start with a small redo of my room. Wall decoration is something that’s so easy to do and also gives a big change in a room. They have many options for wall decoration, like printing pictures on dibond or canvas. You also can choose from different sizes, mine has the size 30×20 horizontal. I have something in my room that represent my blog and me, my room feels complete now!

Fashion | My Go To Summer Essentials.

Spring and summer are my favourite seasons. It goes so far that I literally wear oversized clothing during autumn and winter every single day. Nothing wrong with that, I can wrap myself in my oversized sweater like a burrito. However, it isn’t much exciting as spring and summer clothing! Aside from floral dresses and stripes, am I sharing with you Loves my go to summer essentials that I always wear during summer.

The weather in the Netherlands has bipolar moments so, my number one item is a blazer. It’s perfect for those warm/cold days if you wear a jacket it’s too warm and if you go without one it’s too cold. Same goes with ballerina’s flats, without a doubt you will find a black pair in my shoes collection. As you all know me Loves, I like details! I was pleased to see the golden details on the back of the flat heel. Don’t forget the denim jeans, we ladies have a love and hate relationships when it comes to finding the perfect fit jeans. When we have one, we hold onto it like Frodo and his ring. Right Loves?

Sunglasses an item that is fashionable and practical in one. Perfect way to hide those bags under your eyes because you enjoyed the typical summer night a day before. Jewellery also belongs to my summer essentials list. Especially golden jewellery because it matches with a tan perfectly!

Share with me your essentials. Maybe I forgot a key piece!

Beauty Review | Sparkles In A Tube.

Highlighters in a tube are to me a great beauty invention! When I’m in a hurry I just grab one and put it in my bag without getting worried it gets broken or it opens in my bag and make a mess. Since it’s fluid I only use the tips of my fingers to apply it on my cheekbones, no brush needed. On top of that they are such eye candies! As you all know me Loves, I’m rose gold and simplicity obsessed.

The first thing I did is smell the product. I definitely buy with my nose and if makeup smells chemical I don’t buy it, no matter which brand it is. With these highlighter creams I am not worried about it. The first tube I swatched is called Pearl. I like this light-yellow highlighter a lot. When you apply it on your cheekbones and blend it with your fingertips you get an instant glow, it’s good pigmented. It even looks like that natural glow! Which is perfect for daily use.

The second highlighter cream is called Oyster Pink. I like this tube because it gives that shy glowy look, it suits perfect with my beauty look Sweetheart. This shade is also perfect for under your eyebrow to create an open look. On top of that, the tube has a perfect size, you can keep it in your bag for those quick touch up days.

Honestly Loves, I am impressed by these highlighter creams from Primark. Both are well pigmented and easy to use.

Shopping | My Favourite Webshops.

Who gets also euphoric when you shop online? Don’t get me started about the feeling when you buy the item you really want on sale or with a good discount, hello happiness! Since my saving money post, which I still do, am I looking online for web shops who sell good quality items for a good price, especially when I want to buy high end items. When you subscribe to their newsletters you mostly get a discount code right away or when they notice you didn’t shop at the web shop for a while they’ll send you reminders and occasionally a discount code that you can use if the virtual shopping cart includes items more than a specific price. Yes, I am that type of a web shopper who patiently waits for that e-mail or mail. It’s like a present from me to me!

I wouldn’t be me if I don’t share my favourite web shops with you Loves, I wish you that euphoric feeling!

Vente-Exclusive my go-to web shop at the moment. Wait, it’s more than my go-to web shop, I am obsessed with it! I find myself looking at their site occasionally and since I downloaded their app even more. This web shop is clear, easy and has a 70% discount on well-known brands, what more do I need?! It is even possible to set reminders on your reminders app on your phone. Just click on the clock at the brands you want to shop from and you’ll get a reminder when the sale starts. What I also like from Vente-Exclusive is it sells everything, from fashion items to beauty and lifestyle. You will find your dream item!

Next on my list is Zalando. This web shop is such a blessing, the items they sell are from a good quality and I never regretted buying from it. I like it that you can adjust the price from low to high, this way you can search for items with your budget. When you subscribe to their newsletter they keep you updated on sales and more. They also send you a discount code when they miss you, isn’t that sweet!

Move over Ali Express, there is a new low budget shop in web shop town, meet Wish! I prefer Wish over Ali because Wish is much easier to work with. The web shop doesn’t have a great lay-out, but the items are quite good for a low budget shop. I did not receive crap quality items yet, I hope it keeps that way! These kinds of shops are perfect to me when I want to buy items that I know I don’t going to use a lot or spend too much money on it while I can get it cheaper for the same quality. What I don’t like is that you have to wait for two/four weeks before you get that ‘’gift from me to me’’ moment when you find them on your doormat.

Last but not least is web shop Douglas. I buy in this web shop namely high-end beauty products. As a member you always get 25% off on selected brands and you save five points with every one euro you spend. When you saved thousand points you’ll get five euro discount on your next purchase! You also can choose free samples of your choice to add into your shopping chart. When it is a gift for someone they wrap it for you for free, you just have to checkmark it on the check out. If the items you bought online is broken due to sending, you can bring it back to their psychical store. Waiting is no longer necessary!

Lifestyle |My Simple Ways To Relieve Yourself From Stress.

I have been the last few months so busy and stressed out that I forgot how to enjoy life, to enjoy the simple things. I felt time is rushing me by and every day I woke up tired than the day before. I had to get a grip and remind myself to stop before I get a burn out! On top of that I’m not feeling comfortable with my own body, mind and skin. I stopped working out and junk food took over my diet. Knowing this, I need to take back control and to do that I have to lower my stress thermometer.

There is no better way to lower it by pampering myself. First, I start with lighting up tea lights and candles to create a relaxing atmosphere. After that I’m making myself lay comfortably to put a facial sheet mask on. The 30 minutes applying time comes truly handy to lay on my bed with my feet crossed and my fingers woven together. To not to be easily distracted I concentrate on my breathing, breath in breath out. As a result, the tension of my body disappears, and I can go through my day more relaxer. After the mask I take a hot shower to relax my muscles. When I’m done and put cloths on, I smear myself in with a delicious body oil or lotion and I immediately feel more confident and comfy. When my time is limited and need a mini break, I paint my nails. I can do this every time and anywhere! When I’m sitting by my desk, on my bed or even in the train going to college.

If I don’t have a lot of time due to work or my studies, I plan trips to the kitchen or coffee break room to make myself a hot cup of tea. While I wait for the water to get boiled, I take the time to look out a window and enjoy the view. I mostly drink green tea with no sugar or forest fruit also without sugar for an energy boost. While I’m at it, I browse through a magazine to get inspiration. If I’m not in the mood to do that I just sit there with my eyes closed for a couple of minutes. When my break is over I feel rested to go back to my work or studies!

What also helps for me is to read a book. Reading is the perfect way to wander with my thoughts into one of the book characters. Especially when it is a good book! I can easily forget time when the story is beautiful, it makes me almost write my own book. Speaking about writing, writing my thoughts about what I’m going through on paper is also a good way to relieve me from stress. A dairy is just like a best friend who listens and does not judge. Perfect!

What are your ways to relieve yourself from stress?

New In | I Got Mail!

Who knows that joyful moment when the mailman brings you packages that you ordered online? Who am I kidding, everyone knows that feeling! Well Loves, imagine my joy when I received these goodies from ToSave because I collaborated with them. Move over Wish and Ali Express, there is a new store in town! I sporadic order at that kind of online stores because mostly the quality is below my expectations but, I’m sincerely surprised with these goodies I got from ToSave.

I chose a mini back pack that you can wear on your back and as an crossbody bag. They have many colours, but green caught my eyes and it matched perfectly with the golden details. What I like about the bag is, even it has a small size it has four compartments. One at the front that closes with a golden detailed magnet, one at the back that closes with a zipper and when you open it you’ll find a small compartment for your cards or keys. The material of the bag is made with PU leather, I am amazed about the quality! On the top of the bag there is a handle which is finished with gold buttons and stitched thread, this also applies to the entire bag. I already know which bag I’m going to take when I go out or run small errands!

Makeup brushes are to me like bags and shoes, you’ll never have enough! I fell in love with the galaxy colours. This brush set contains seven brushes that you can use for your foundation, blush, for blending, your eyes and lips. The first thing that I do when I buy makeup brushes is pulling the hairs of the brush gently to see if hairs fall out, it didn’t happen with these brushes. They are even so soft! The size of the brushes is pocket size, which is great. I can carry them around in my makeup pouch easily.

The last goodies I chose is a 925-sterling silver jewellery set. I am so happy with it! It has a chic look that I truly like about jewellery. I chose this one because I can wear it as a set during a special occasion or individually at a typical college day. The bracelet can you adjust easily just by pressing it together. One earring has slightly a different bend than the other one, it doesn’t bother me much. You can bend it however you like. When I wore the necklace around my neck, it reminded me of a teardrop. The ring looks like two teardrops coming together, simple yet chic!

Tell me Loves, what do you think about these goodies?

Fashion | Statement Earrings.

Move over statement necklaces, there is new statement jewellery in fashion town. They have been risen from the neck to ears and are here to stay! Well, at least until a next trend shows up and claims the town. As you know me Loves, I’m hooked on accessories that make an outfit complete. That’s why I like this trend as much as the statement necklaces hype.

Even though you wear your favourite denim jeans with just a white tee these beauties will add some flair onto your outfit. Statement earrings are the perfect fashion item that comes in different styles and sizes next to bags and don’t forget, SHOES! I truly feel in my element if I see a good piece. Who is with me? As much I love to follow trends, how outrageous they can be: I still be close to my own style. That’s why I picked earrings that have a statement vibe but are still simple and sophisticated.

I am a firm believer that golden accessories give a chic appearance. The colour gold in fashion items is timeless and can be worn at many occasions. The upcoming holidays is the perfect time to shine! I like the feather details on the earring, it looks like a dreamcatcher. Rose gold accessories is also a colour that is stepping up on the ladder of timeless fashion items. I see it more and more in stores and I’m not complaining! I chose for a long leaf earring, it looks so good when you wear your hair loose with it. Same goes with creoles earrings, it gives that extra flair to your hairdo.

As I already have written before, I still am close to my own style. I wouldn’t be me if I don’t have a pair or two of simple statement earrings. I like the pink flower one because it comes close to ear studs that I daily wear, it accentuates my jawline. The long silver coloured ones are perfect when you want to keep it down but still want to have your earrings noticed. It looks great with your work outfit and you must go straight to a dinner or party.

Which one do you like Loves?

New In | Balmain X L’Oréal.

I was so in love with the Balmain X H&M collaboration that this match made in heaven with L’Oréal got me shook! I even pre-ordered it. When I got it, I was so curious about it that I opened it immediately! But, my first impression about it was: it looks good. Yes, just good. Even though from the outside it looks chic and edgy, just like all things from Balmain and I truly like that vibe. I suddenly felt a ‘’oh’’ feeling. The lipstick package felt fragile like, if I dropped it on the floor it would break. It even came with a small damage onto the cap so my hyped feeling slightly changed. But I learned don’t judge a book by its cover

When I opened it the first thing that you will notice is the smell. I loved it! As I told in my first impressions blogpost, I buy when it comes to makeup with my nose. Since I bought the lipstick online was the smell a pleasant surprise! The smell reminds me of autumn, a wood scent with a twist of a scent from lilies. It even sounds like a fairy-tale.

The lipstick comes with different shades and I couldn’t choose. The shades are so daring and so fierce! The opposite of me. I watched Balmain’s promo videos about it online, more than once and I still couldn’t decide. At one moment, I thought let me choose a shade that I wouldn’t chose easily. So, I chose Confession. It comes almost close to a nude shade and as you know me Loves, have I a love and hate relationship with nude colours. I am glad to find out, when I swatched it on my wrist that the shade has a peachy colour as a sub tone.

When I applied on my lips, the creamy lipstick went smoothly over them. The lipstick gives a matt effect which makes it long-lasting. I am happy to say that the lipstick has a place between my MAC Collection and high end favourite Chanel lippie!

Which shade from the collection would you chose Loves?

Lifestyle | My Social Media Habits.

I am without a doubt addicted to my phone. Even as a blogger, am I addicted more than ever. I mostly use my phone for blog related work than for personal use. Whenever you find me on my phone, nine out of ten times I check behind the scenes of my blog. That will be looking at my statistics, comments, answering them, like pictures, read other blogs, follow them and comment on their post. And this is only the usual small tasks that I do. When I’m done with the small tasks, I look online to get inspired for upcoming blogposts. I get this inspired itch mostly from other blogs that share them or online fashion and beauty magazines. I write my thoughts about it on the notes app that iPhone has.

The main habit that I have when it comes to my social media, is that I use punctuation marks with every sentence I write. I’m not a grammar freak, but it looks better. The second habit I have is that if I made a typo, I remove the whole post. This happens more on my Twitter. Yes, I know my lovely followers still understand what I’m saying, my perfectionism speaks louder at that moment.  I also have a neat tic when it comes to using emojis. Blog related post are marked with the black mark emoji and a row of black emoji squares comes in front of my hashtags. On the end of the hashtags I placed the black heart emoji. This is my go to manner on my Instagram. My other go to for my feed, is that the pictures I post mostly have a white background if not, like an outfit post, I give my pictures a white glow just to have an ordered feed. In the beginning of my blogging career I just placed pictures randomly. Since I use my Instagram as a portfolio am I more concerned about the layout. I don’t want it to look too perfect, we already have too many of those feeds. So, I wanted to have a messy-white background-matched feed and I like it!

On my Facebook page, I share automatically new blogposts and some statements and that’s about it. I think this is because I don’t really have the hang of it yet. I just don’t use it as much as Instagram. Same goes for my Bloglovin’ account. I probably should interact on them more. Snapchat (SaidaSnaps) and Twitter are my most used social apps when it comes to sharing personal things. First, the Snapchat filters are so fun to use! Second, Twitter is the perfect place to share my thoughts about college, working out and another chit chat. I also like to retweet other fashion, beauty and lifestyle tweets.

Everybody has an own way on how to use social media, sometimes it scares me because of all the things you can see. The good, the bad and the ugly but, we cannot ‘’live’’ without it. I certainly am.

Feel free to follow Loves. Comment below your habits, would love to read them!

Beauty Review | Chanel #488 Elise.

After my MAC Cosmetics lipstick collection, I got the hang of buying high-end makeup that I caught my eyes on Chanel. Chanel is after Elie Saab my favourite brand. Chanel stands for me, as chic and timeless beauty. I chose for Rouge Coco lippie in shade #448 Elise. I don’t know about you loves, but I automatically speak with a fake France accent when I pronounce Elise. Since it’s an attack on my wallet, can we enjoy it with our noses up? I don’t judge!

The outside package looks like typical Chanel. Black with golden lettered details. I always liked that colour combination. When you open it, you’ll get that tingling feeling that we all know. Like when you open presents during Christmas, or in my case, during Eid. The first thing you see is the usual white Chanel logo on top of the lipstick cap. You also can see the logo in the inside of the cap, which is black. The lipstick is surrounded with a golden sheath. I like how a simple looking thing can have a chic appearance.

I hope that I’m not the only one who says that I also buy with my nose. It is kind of habit to smell makeup before I buy it. Chanel past the odour test! The smell can be the best described as the scent of dried rose petals. The lippie has Chanel stamped on it, I like this detail. I was at first a bit sceptical about the colour. I have a love hate relationship when it comes to colour pink. I hate the colour Barbie pink and pale pink, but I like the shades between them. Does it make sense? Anyway, I like it turned out well! Definitely my favourite lippie at the moment.

It went smoothly over my lips when I applied it. I felt instantly the hydration, it lived right up on my lips. Same goes when I swatched it on my wrist. The pigment is so great and long lasting! The shade also surprised me. It has a small amount of glitter, perfect for that last extra sparkle.

Event Report | Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam. #MBFWA

Fashion week Amsterdam has come to an end and I still have an ecstatic after feeling. This was my first fashion week attendance and I loved every bit of it. I went to the catwalk show from Sophia Bentoh and Sunanda Chandry Koning. Both designers showed their collection with a message and it was loud and clear.

Sophia Bentoh went back to her roots. Her collection Ibileye which means ‘’beautiful as a precious piece of fabric’’ is a contrast of African prints meets pop/punk. It was beautifully outspoken on the catwalk. It is a mix and match of colours and clothing pieces for men and women. She draws the prints by herself and prints it with a screen-print on the clothing. Not only she makes figurative prints from African origin, but also symbols that we all know like peace signs, spikes and safety pins.

Sophia comes from a creative family. Her father is a sculptor and her mother a doctor that makes her own clothes. Her passion for fashion started right from her home. With her personal memories, culture and hard work: Ibileye was born. I like that she got inspired by her roots. As a Moroccan, I can truly appreciate traditional clothing that represents my culture. Because of this I felt a connection with her collection.

The models she chose for the catwalk are individually unique, not the models you used to know. Same goes for the models from designer Sunanda. Her clothing collections comes with messages like make love not war and gender acceptance. She uses many twins as models with the thought to represent connectivity in her clothing. She showed her capsule collection Behemoth. Unfinished clothing pieces were at the end free to take because she stripped her models into white tops and underwear. Expect for two twin models who she let walk topless on the catwalk. It was not clear what to do with the clothing that she left. I looked it up online and find out that the unfinished clothing was free to take to make it your own by her or yourself. I like the thought behind it, nothing is perfect. Make it your own. Too bad it wasn’t clear for the audience.

I had such a lovely day! I went with my sister and made it a girl’s day out. It was interesting to experience the event. Even if you curious just to see how a fashion show looks like, you would be impressed by the music you hear and the people around you.
